Responsibilities
Design and ship ML for semantic search, summarization, entity/topic understanding, and related‑content discovery that turns “find” into “know in a glance. Partner across Eng/PM/Design to productionize models in low‑latency, high‑reliability services powering Copilot Search and Agent workflows. Contribute to publications, patents, and open collaboration—share results at top venues and translate research into features that help users get real work done.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results). OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results). OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results). OR equivalent experience. Depth in NLP/IR/LLMs/RAG, and/or Graph/representation learning; strong fundamentals in causal inference or experimentation a plus. Proficiency in Python (and one of: C#/Java/Scala), data tooling (e.g., PyTorch/Transformers, Spark/SQL), and production ML practices. Experience optimizing latency, reliability, and cost for AI services in cloud environments (Azure preferred). Evidence of thought leadership (papers, patents, OSS, talks) and cross‑discipline collaboration. Passion for product impact: you care about measurable gains in user productivity and quality. Prior work on enterprise search, recommendations, summarization, or agents; familiarity with Copilot extensions/Graph connectors.
